Rusty Egan Led All Twenty Laps En-route to His First Ever Career Feature Win

The 410 A main saw the leaders enter lapped traffic in just a handful of laps. Bill Balog led the charge through lapped traffic, but Scotty Thiel was hot on his heels. The pair diced through traffic until the caution flag waved on lap 15. On the restart Thiel slid Balog for the lead but the “North Pole Nightmare” was able to cross under the Scott Thiel Builders 64 and regain the lead. Balog would continue to lead till the end, picking up the victory over Thiel. Jeremy Schultz brought the Bob Hood Motorsports 10w home in 3rd followed by Russel Borland and Jake Blackhurst.

After the Bumper to Bumper Winged 410s had their fun, it was time for the Auto Meter Wisconsin wingLESS feature. Rusty Egan started on the pole, and used that positioning to take the early lead. Egan would begin to gap the field led by Derek Crane. Crane began to reel Egan in around the halfway point of the feature, and a caution flag with 7 laps to go would give Crane a shot at the win. Crane could not find a way past Egan on the restart and “The Rocket” led the final laps ensuring his first career victory.

Crane would settle for 2nd position over Tim Cox and a late race charging Jimmy Sivia. Ryan Zielski would bring his 21z home in 5th.

Qualifying for the Wisconsin wingLESS series saw series point leader Chris Dodd set quicktime over Craig Campton. Jimmy Sivia timed in 3rd quick while Tim Cox and Zach Raidart rounded out the top 5.

Osborn and Son Trucking qualifying for the Bumper to Bumper 410 Outlaw Sprints was won by Bill Balog, who was the only driver into the 10 second bracket. Jeremy Schultz was 2nd quick followed by Ben Schmidt. Scott Biertzer timed his 4B machine in 4th and Mike Reinke was 5th.

The wingLESS series had the first set of heats on track, and in heat race one Allen Hafford picked up the win over Chris Dodd. Ryan Zielski was third across the line followed by Greg Olsen and Tim Cox.

The second heat was dominated by Rusty Egan, a sign of how his night would go. Behind Egan, Zach Raidart had a great run bringing his 23z car home in second over Jordan Paulsen, Scott Grissom and Chris Klemko.

The third and final heat was picked up by Jimmy Sivia in the Grand Appliance 91 over Dennis Spitz. Shawn Swim finished in third followed by Derek Crane and Charles Spoonmore.

Next it was time for the winged outlaws to hit the track for heat race action. Scotty Thiel took off from the front of heat race one and began to pull away from the field. Bill Balog meanwhile worked his way into the second position but could not real the 64 of Thiel in before the checkered flag waved. Behind Thiel and Balog it was Joey Moughan in third, Scott Biertzer in fourth and Dave Uttech in fifth.

The second heat race was won by defending series champion Jake Blackhurst over Todd King. Jeremy Schultz would finish in third over a pair of IRA veterans in Mike Reinke and Scotty Neitzel.

The final heat was picked up by the Wiese Trucking 23 car piloted by Russel Borland. Ben Schmidt brought the Oz Motorsports car home in second followed by Steve Meyer. The California transplant Austin Deblauw finished in the fourth position and Wayne Modjeski was fifth.

With the 410 feature set all that was left was the wingLESS series B main before it was time for the main events. In the B main Paul Shaffer led all ten laps to lock himself into the A along with Natalie Klemko, George Gaertner, James Walldan, William Huck and Tom Eller.
