“This is the fulfillment of a lifetime,” Blake said in victory lane following the conclusion of the Fall Classic after clinching the title. “To win the feature to secure it just tops it off. This team works so hard while I can work. Then I often just show up at the track and they have the car set up perfectly. With my dad with us too, it’s really special.”
“I didn’t plan on running the entire IRA schedule or for points. I almost quit racing,” Blake said, starting to show signs of emotion. “My dad and others on the crew, who keep the car close to here while I live in Yorkville, Illinois, it’s amazing.To have my name joining the likes of Bill Balog, Jake Blackhurst, Joe Roe, and all of the big names who have won here at Wilmot where it all began for sprint car racing is really special. This is fulfillment of a dream.”
