The IRA began 53 years ago at the Wilmot Raceway, so this Saturday night, Aug 8th is IRA Founders Night at Wilmot Raceway featuring the Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series. Joining the 410 winged rockets will be IRA’s AutoMeter Wisconsin wingLESS Sprints presented by Brewington Electric, the IRA Lightning Sprints, and Modifieds too. Warmups are at 5:45 followed by 410 qualifying, with racing to follow.

While unfortunately there is not a Kenosha County Fair going on this week, however we are extremely fortunate that part of the KCF tradition is going on, as there will be two nights of racing (Aug 21-22) this weekend at Wilmot Raceway. Saturday night brought the Scott Thiel Motorsports team to the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI with the IRA Sprint Car Series. After coming off a decent run at Beaver Dam the week before, Thiel continued on his charge early in the night with a quick lap time in qualifying and followed that up with a heat race win. Jeremy Schultz and the 5J Motorsports Team headed to Wilmot on Saturday night to race the weekly show. 16 cars were on hand with a great crowd to watch.
