World of Outlaws visit Wilmot Raceway for the Badger 40 in 2019 on July 13

WILMOT, Wisc. — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will visit Wilmot Raceway in Wisconsin again in 2019 on Saturday, July 13 for the Badger 40. The event will mark the series sixth visit by “The Greatest Show on Dirt” to the fairgrounds oval in Southeast Wisconsin.

Brent Marks picked up his first-career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series win at Wilmot Raceway this past season. The native of Myerstown, Pa., did it in dominant fashion, lapping all the way up to the ninth-place finisher.

David Gravel ripped off three straight wins at Wilmot in 2014, 2016 and 2017, before having that win streak snapped by Marks this year.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series raced for the first time at Wilmot Raceway in 2006, with Mark Dobmeier, who was filling in for Brooke Tatnell, scoring his first-career series win in one of the most thrilling events in series history. Dobmeier edged Jeremy Campbell and Daryn Pittman by mere inches in a thrilling last lap battle for the win. Each driver led at one point during the final lap, with Campbell ending up second and a spinning Pittman crossing the line third.

Pittman would make up for that near-miss when the series returned to Wilmot in 2008. He traded the lead a couple of times with Chad Kemenah in the first half of the race, before pacing the final 19 circuits to score the win.

This past season, Donny Schatz claimed his 10th World of Outlaws championship on the strength of 22 wins. Brad Sweet finished second in points and racked up a career-high nine wins, with David Gravel in third, Pittman in fourth and Shane Stewart in fifth.

Logan Schuchart, who won two races in 2018, was sixth in the standings, with Sheldon Haudenschild, who had five victories in seventh. Ian Madsen, the 2018 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award winner, was eighth in the standings, with Brent Marks, who won three times, in ninth and Kraig Kinser in 10th.

Ticket information for The Badger 40, featuring the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series event at Wilmot Raceway in Wisconsin on Saturday, July 13, 2019 will be available soon at www.slspromotions.com.
