Year 3 for the Midwest Legends Dirt Series season right around the corner, and we want to spotlight the tracks we will be visiting throughout the season. Some tracks will be familiar to fans of the MLDS while some tracks will be completely new. Let’s jump in and learn about some fantastic facilities!!
The first of five new tracks for the series takes us to Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin. The track that has been on the list of new facilities we wanted to visit is finally here and ready to host some action in 2026.
Wilmot has been in operation for many years, with racing a yearly high point for the area. The track hosts weekly racing with Sprint Cars, Lightning Sprints, Modifieds, and Street Stocks regularly. The season will also see the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars, Dirt Car Summer Nationals, IRA Sprint Cars, Badger Midgets, MSA Sprint Cars, American Big Rig Racing, and many more descend on the track for action.
Legends have not been to Wilmot in many years so who to watch is really a toss up. Rob Maule is a two-time Street Stock Champion at the track, Ryan Mech has many laps in a modified at the track, and a few others may have some time at the track under their belt that we are missing. (Editors note, I believe myself, Zack Krueger, have more experience at this track than most as I’ve worked a few nights in the previous few years. Wilmot High School, located next to the track, also holds the honor of being the only school I scored against in my disappointingly mediocre soccer career. Anyways, back to the article).
The 3/8th Mile Semi-Banked Clay Oval hosts the series three times in the first half of the season in 2026. The first date, May 9th, will have the series in action alongside the Winged 604 Sprints, Modfields, Street Stocks, and Bandits. Night two sees the same classes on June 13th. Night three is the big one, with the MDLS teaming up with the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars for a massive night of racing on July 10th.
