WILMOT DRIVERS BUSY OFF TRACK & ON

(Wilmot, Wis., June 23, 2019)–Wilmot Raceway’s one-third mile clay oval is full of action over the next two weeks at the Kenosha County Fairgrounds facility and for drivers promoting in community events.  Wing’s Etc. Car Show in Antioch’s Orchard Street Plaza will see the Raymond Chevrolet Silverado Pace Truck 4 p.m. until dusk Tuesday, June 25.  The Wilmot Raceway Raymond Chevrolet Pace Truck will head the 11th annual Cruisin’ Antioch on Wednesday, June 26.  The “cruise” meets at Wal-Mart parking lot, Rte. 173 and Deep Lake Rd., 5:30-6:00 p.m. pulling out at 6:00 progressing north on Deep Lake Rd. to Depot St., then west to downtown Antioch where vehicles will be parked along Main St. until 9:00 p.m.  The cruise is open to any type of vehicles including race cars and motorcycles.  It is a rain or shine event.  On Saturday, June 29 at Raymond Chevrolet on Rte. 173 in Antioch will be cars and donuts from 8:00 until 11:00 a.m. The Wilmot Raceway pace vehicle will be there along with Nick Petska’s non-wing sprint car and possibly others.  On Thursday, July 4, Wilmot Raceway will be respresented by Dream Chaser Racing and Mike Neau of Kenosha in the Union Grove parade.  The Raymond Chevrolet Pace Vwechicle will be in Antioch’s parade along with John Cole’s Bandit 4-cylinder stock car and the street stocks of Brandon Mertes and Nick Smalley.  The Klemko non-wing sprint car team of Natalie Klemko, her brother Chris Klemko, and Jordan Paulsen along with the Raymond Chevrolet Wilmot Raceway Pace Truck will be at the Independence Day Celebration located on Great Lakes Naval Training Station.  The event including music, food, events and activities is open to the public free of admission charge.  Pit stop demonstrations are planned during the afternoon.  Festivities are scheduled 3:00 until 10:00 p.m. with the huge fireworks show to close out the day.  On track Wilmot Raceway hosts its final First Responders Night Saturday, June 29 featuring WingLess Sprints, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Bandit 4-Cylinders.  First Responders will be admitted to the grandstands as guests of Wilmot Raceway by presenting their ID card at the grandstand ticket office.  On Tuesday, July 2 will be a special mid-week show of the traveling Midwest Promoters(UMP) Late Model Summer Nationals Tour.  Modifieds and street stocks are on the program as well.  On Saturday, July 6 traditional BADGER Midgets Harry Turner Classic is scheduled along with wingless sprints, modifieds, street stocks and Bandit 4-cylinders.  A busy time has the NOS Energy World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Saturday, July 13 with wingless sprints and Lightning sprints on the card.  July 13 advance tickets are available by going to the SLSPromotions website.  For the latest Wilmot Raceway schedule updates, results, point standings and information go to wilmotraceway.com or the track Facebook page.  – Submitted by Michael H.
