Wilmot Raceway proudly announces its’ TENTATIVE 2014 schedule. It has several specials creating one of the most diverse schedules in the region, but certainly includes its’ core classes as they are included in many of the specials plus all divisions have a full slate of their own. Please note this is a “tentative” schedule and classes as listed are subject to change on a few dates. But this will allow both teams and fans to start planning accordingly.
Wilmot Raceway which hosts the most winged 410 racing in the region and has all three of the premier touring series scheduled for 2014. The biggest news will be the long awaited return of the STP World of Outlaws Sprint Series who invade Wilmot on Friday night May 9th. It’s been several years since the WoO last visited Wilmot but we’re proud to have them back especially as part of the legendary Steve Kinser’s WoO farewell tour. Advance tickets will go on sale soon and we’ll make an announcement on what that process is in early February. For Sprint Car fans the good news continues as the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will have 5 appearances, May 24, June 21, July 19, and as last year 2 big days during the Kenosha County Fair on August 15-16. Joining IRA on July 19th will be the UNOH All-Star Circuit of Champions for the 3rd annual IRA AllStar Sprint Challenge. Wilmot’s Hoosier Tire Sprints have 3 additional dates in addition to all the other Sprint shows and they’re slated to run as part of Opening Night May 3rd, plus July 5th, and August 30th.
Adding to Wilmot’s diversity is a pair of Late Model stock car specials. For the 4th year in the past five, the UMP Late Model Summer Nationals Hell Tour storms into Wilmot for their now annual Father’s Day event, June 15th. The WDLMA Late Models also make their traditional appearance as part of Wilmot’s Season Championship Night for the Mods and Street Stocks creating an outstanding trio to conclude the season. The popular Illinois Vintage Stock Cars return on August 9th.
Wilmot is blessed with solid core classes within their Don’s Auto Parts & Machine Service Modifieds, the R.A. Adams Enterprises / Advance Auto Parts Street Stocks, the Fec’s Place Mini Sprints, and the Massive Speed Pro 4 & Hawg Heaven Bandit 4 ranks. These divisions headline several Family Night events plus play major roles in many of our specials and Wilmot is blessed to have tremendous support in these divisions which have provided much great racing entertainment the past several years. Each will have specials of their own in which they can boast bragging rights. As an example the annual Tommy Homan Memorial has grown into a big event and it goes trackside on Aug 2nd (with a Aug 9th raindate). Mods will have specials on June 15th & June 28th, and the Illinois Lightning Sprints join our Wilmot/WIMS Mini’s on June 7th creating a big night for them. The 4’s will have their nights to shine on Aug 15th as part of the Fair, and Aug 23rd too. Stay tuned for more announcements….
The Badger Midgets will bring in some of the best Midget racing talent in the country to Wilmot on July 26th for the annual “Salute To Harry Turner” event. And the growing Badger 600cc Micro Sprints will share the card with their big brothers on July 26th, plus join the fun on their own Aug 9th.
The Kenosha County Fair again provides outstanding motorsports entertainment throughout Fair week. Truck & Tractor Pulls plus the popular Combine Demo compete Wed & Thur Aug 13-14, the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints headline both Fri & Sat Aug 15-16 with Street Stocks and 4’s joining them on Friday, and Mods and Mini Sprints competing with them Saturday. The Fair action concludes Sunday with the popular KCF Demo Derby on Sunday Aug 17th.
We’re still looking at adding some additional divisions or entertainment on certain nights and are negotiating even now, but we wanted release what we have to date so our fans and racers could begin planning for what is absolutely a big 2014 at Wilmot Raceway. Stay tuned…….
