Wilmot Raceway will be hosting 3 Divisional meetings this coming weekend December 17-18. Saturday Dec. 17th the F4 / P4 meeting will be hosted by Todd Booker at the Massive Speed shop located at 2304 Spring Grove Rd (Spring Grove, IL 60081). Basically Spring Grove Rd & Rt. 12 intersection at 11 AM.

On Sunday the 18th the Mod meeting is set for 4 PM at Hawg Heaven, while the Street Stocks are set for 5:30, also at Hawg Heaven (Hwy 83 Salem, WI, just N of Hwy C).

These meetings are simply to go over what has been been learned since the end of the 2011 season, and to share some thoughts and plans for what Wilmot Raceway has in mind for 2012. And ofcourse to give our teams a chance to voice their opinions.... as good ideas may lead to something positive, and certainly will be taken in advisement.

Wilmot Raceway does plan on a big 2012 season complete with weekly Saturday night racing beginning the first weekend in May, and continuing all the way til the end of September, (and maybe even the first weekend in October). It appears as though a few additional major specials will be added to the 2012 schedule and details will be released as soon as everything becomes official. Also it was great to see so many familiar faces at the recently concluded IMIS Show in Indianapolis too.

Don't forget to hold the night of January 28th open for Wilmot Raceway's annual post season Party. Bristol Oaks will again host the bash. Award presentations for all classes followed by live music. Appetizers will be served, with full cash bar. Bristol Oaks is located on Hwy 50,  east of Hwy 45 on the south side of Hwy 50.

Thanks,
Steve, Joe, Todd, Our Division Managers, and Wilmot Raceway Staff.

September 26, 2011
Mother Nature won yet another one at Wilmot Raceway, as showers hit the grounds just as Sprint Cars were filling the pit area for the final round of the Fall Festival of Speed. IRA 410's, MSA 360's, Mini Sprints, and Vintage Mods fell victim to the wet stuff yet again. Unfortunately with it being so late in the season, and all 4 divisions having other events scheduled for next week, there will be no make up date. Congrats to Tommy Sexton as he is the Wilmot Raceway Goodyear Sprint Car Champion, and Todd Lehr Wilmot Raceway's Fec's Place / Outlaw Race Parts Mini Sprint Champion.

Thanks to everyone for supporting Wilmot Raceway. We'll be announcing plans for our annual post season party soon, so stay tuned. And we look forward to seeing everyone again in 2012!

September 19, 2011

This will be the final race of Wilmot Raceway's 2011 season, and we've saved the best for last. The Wilmot Raceway kicks off the Fall Festival of Speed this Saturday night, September 17th. The final two Saturday's of September are major events at the Raceway as major regional touring series invade in addition season long championships being decided. The Fall Festival of Speed goes green this Saturday being headlined by the Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association Late Model Stock Cars. This is Wilmot's only Late Model show of 2011. Additionally it's Championship Night for four of Wilmot Raceway's weekly divisions. The RA Adams Enterprises Street Stocks have plenty on the line as their biggest night of the year falls in conjunction with Championship Night as the Tommy Homan Memorial for the Street Stocks offers the division their biggest pay day of the season, though a race within a race will be happening as Pat Rossman and Rob Maule are in the midst of a great points battle as one will be declared Wilmot Raceway Street Stock Champion. Chris Carlson hopes to lock up his first Wilmot Raceway title in the highly competitive Don's Auto & Machine Modified division. The Modifieds have provided the biggest field of cars at Wilmot all season long and another strong one is expected Saturday. Some great finishes have been provided in the 4 cylinder class and the Pro 4's and Fearless 4's will have at it again. Near photo finishes have been the norm the past several events with a pair of titles on the line for the Hawg Heaven cars.

Then the season concludes on Saturday Night September 24th with the Open Wheel conclusion of the Fall Festival of Speed. This night is a Sprint Car fan's dream as 3 divisions of Sprint Cars ( The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw 410 Sprints, the MSA 360 Sprints, and Wilmot's Fec's Place 1200 Mini Sprints) plus Vintage Mods too all take to the third-mile clay. Wilmot Raceway track champion's will be decided in the Goodyear Sprint, and Fec's Place / Outlaw Race Parts Mini Sprint divisions.

Don't miss Wilmot Raceway's Fall Festival of Speed, September 17th & 24th as we've saved the best of the 2011 racing season for last.

September 7, 2011
While Mother Nature has not been very kind to Wilmot Raceway this season, we will give the Tommy Homan Memorial a 3rd try as part of our Fall Festival of Speed Season Championships, September 17th & 24th. Next up, Sept 17th,  will be the first of two Fall Festival of Speed Championship Night's featuring a special appearance of the WDLMA Late Models, plus Championship Night for the RA Adams Enterprises Street Stocks as they run in the Tommy Homan Memorial. 2 BIG SHOWS TO CONCLUDE THE 2011 WILMOT RACEWAY SEASON!

August 31, 2011
The Wilmot Raceway is hosting Back To School Family Night this Saturday night, September 3rd, featuring the Tommy Homan Memorial. Adult grandstand tickets are just $10, and kids 11 & under are FREE. In addition to the big $553 to win Tommy Homan Memorial event for the RA Adams Enterprises Street Stocks, a full program of Don's Auto & Machine Modifieds, Fec's Place Mini Sprints, and Hawg Heaven Fearless 4's will be contested. With just two point races remaining in the season long championship point battle, there should some great racing as titles are on the line.

In addition to the increased winners share in Street Stock class, each car finishing 2nd thru 12th will receive an additional $53 in honor of the car #53 Tommy Homan piloted so successfully in the Wilmot Street Stock division.

August 28, 2011
Some great racing was produced at the Wilmot Raceway on Saturday August 26th. Another solid field of cars turned out, again making Wilmot's car count one of the best in Wisconsin.

Tommy Sexton caught early leader Kris Spitz and went on to convincing win in the Goodyear Sprint A-main. Spitz would finish second ahead of a charging Brian Kristan, while Rick Kelsey edged John Haeni for fourth. Point leader Phillip Mock was running second when he spun and collected Kristan, Mock sustained too much damage to continue while Kristan impressively charged from the tail to 3rd.

Scott Kuxhouse picked up his 3rd Don's Auto & Machine Modified A-main wins. After a few early multi-car cautions, the Mod main went off and provided some great action. Kuxhouse ran down early leader Mike Conn and then coasted to victory. Andy Gross put on a good drive to edge Connfor second while point leader Chris Carlson put on a late race charge to take fourth over Jimmy Morrison.

Sprint driver turned Street Stock racer, Jim Uttech Jr captured a highly competitive RA Adams Enterprises Street Stock main event as several cars ran under a blanket much of the race. A tremendous 5 car battle with Uttech Jr, Dustin Holland, Rob Maule, Pat Rossman, and Ronnie Mink thrilled the crowd, however at the end it was Uttech Jr over Rossman, Maule, Mink, and Craig Mertes.

Erik Grosch topped Evan Townsend by a car length to capture the Hawg Heaven Pro 4 feature. Chris Gentry came home 4th overall to take the Fearless 4 class.
This coming Saturday, September 3rd features the Tommy Homan Memorial Street Stock event which pays $553 to the winner of the 25 lap main event. The event is in memory of fierce Wilmot Raceway competitor who lost his battle with cancer earlier this season. Joining the RA Adams Enterprises Street Stocks will be the Fec's Place Mini-Sprints, Don's Auto & Machime Modifieds, and Hawg Heaven Fearless & Pro 4's.

This Saturday will also be Back To School Family Night as Wilmot Raceway offers $10 Adult Tickets plus all kids 11 & under are FREE. This is the final points race prior to the Season Championships scheduled for September 17th and 24th.

The KCF hosts dirt track action Friday & Saturday night during the Fair. Pit passes are good for FAIR admission. Also, if a team or crew member should arrive prior to the pit gate opening, but wants to attend the Fair, they should simply pay the $8 for admission and then turn that wristband in when buying their pit pass and they'll get $8 off their pit pass price.... thus same money.

Friday night features a Modified special paying $800 to win, $500 for 2nd, and $300 for third.... thus top 3 positions receive a $300 winner's bonus, $200 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd. A solid field of Winged Sprints are fully expected, plus Fearless & Pro 4's.

Saturday it's the Roger Iles Tribute IRA Outlaw Sprints headliner plus Wisconsin's best Street Stock division and Mini-Sprints too. IRA aims at a $2500 to win, $300 to start 36 lap A-main in honor of Mr. Iles.

August 2, 2011
The Wilmot Raceway goes racing this Saturday night August 6th with a 5 Division program featuring Sprints, Modifieds, Mini-Sprints, Street Stocks, and F4s.
The KCF fully acknowledge the problems which occurred this past Saturday which forced the very regrettable postponement of the Tommy Homan Memorial. We sincerely apologize to the Homan Family and everyone who supports the Wilmot Raceway. This includes competitors, fans, and our dedicated Raceway staff of officials.... some of whom are taking the brunt of this undeservedly as they are not involved in the track prep process.

As all of us know who live in the immediate border area, July had the highest recorded amount of rainfall of any July in recorded history, and nearly all of it fell within the last two weeks. Despite that however we absolutely acknowledge we should have been able to race this past Saturday. We are fully aware of the problem and the mistakes made and are making the necessary strides to correct it.

We hope to see everyone this Saturday and beyond as there are several great race nights yet to be contested this year, and we look forward to them.
Thank You

RAINED OUT

July 23, 2011
The 2nd annual Roger Iles Tribute event scheduled a Wilmot Raceway for Saturday July 23rd has officially been rained out. The Kenosha County Fairgrounds has been hit with over 4" of rain within the last 36 hours. The Iles event will be put to another date and that will be announced soon.

Wilmot Raceway will be back in action next saturday July 30th with the first annual Tommy Homan Memorial, featuring Street Stocks, Modifieds, Mini Sprints, and F4's.
It's also a special ticket night, as adult tickets will be just $10.

July 21, 2011
The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series thunders into Wilmot Raceway this Saturday night July 23rd for the 2nd annual Roger Iles Tribute presented by Carriage Auto Body. A tremendous 3-way battle for the IRA point lead is being contested between defending champion Bill Balog, Mike Reinke, and Scotty Neitzel. Over 30 winged 410 sprinters are expected. Joining IRA will be Vintage Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Modifieds. Dustin Holland has been on a roll in the Street Stock division while Chris Carlson's stranglehold on the Mod division has weakened slightly.

Brad Kuhn won the hotly contested Badger/Powri Midget headliner at Wilmot last week, while Scott Kuxhouse (Mods), and Todd Lehr (Mini Sprints) won the other two major feature events that night. Additionally the Illini Midgets and Badger's new Micro Sprint class competed jamming the pit area.

Wilmot Raceway would like to apologize for the lengthy delay in getting last Saturday's program started due to track over-saturaration issues and thank both fans and competitors for their patience. When all said and done some great racing was produced, however it concluded at far too late an hour. Several tracks and events across the Midwest have felt the affects of this current drought, one national event even was cancelled due to excessive dust. Wilmot went to the other extreme trying to avoid those conditions, though obviously went too far.

Don't forget the 1st annual Tommy Homan Memorial July 30th.

The Wilmot Raceway has been producing some of the best car counts in the region this season. Last weekend was another good one as 92 cars representing 5 divisions filled the pits. The 3 wide, multi-lap race for the lead in the Mini Sprint main was spectacular. Congrats to the F4 & P4 classes on their 2nd consecutive ALL GREEN main event. Congratulations to our July 2nd feature winners; Tommy Sexton, Chris Carlson, Nick Petska, Dustin Holland, Erik Grosch, and Carl Sturt.

Action at Wilmot Raceway this week is on FRIDAY NIGHT. Other than one of the FAIR dates, this is the only non-Saturday night scheduled this year. This FRIDAY night features Wilmot's Goodyear Winged Sprints, Don's Auto & Machine Modifieds, RA Adams Enterprises Street Stocks, and Hawg Heaven / Massive Speed Fearless 4's.
July is a strong month at Wilmot Raceway as July 16th is headlined by a major regional MIDGET event as we have a co-sanctioned battle of North vs South as the Badger Midgets compete with the St. Louis area powerhouse, the Powri Midgets in what should be one of the biggest Midget races in this region. Throw in the Illini Racing Series Midgets in their own program, plus 600cc Micro Sprints AND our 1200cc Mini-Sprints, and ofcourse our Don's Auto & Machine Modifieds and you have the makings of a GREAT open wheel show. Then July 23rd has the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series returning in what is always an action packed evening.

The Wilmot Raceway goes green this Saturday night in a 4 Division program headlined by the Midwest SprintCar Association (MSA) Winged Sprint Series. Last Saturday Wilmot Raceway proudly hosted one of the highest car counts in the country for a weekly event as 100 race cars signed in for the 5 Division program. With the MSA Sprint Cars coming to headline this week we are going with a 4 Division program. The division rotation will be Mini-Sprints, MSA Sprints, Street Stocks, and Modifieds. It's Boy & Girl Scout night this Saturday, any scout in uniform is offered a free admission.

Attention Drivers;
A yellow flag rule will be implemented on all non-headline divisions beginning this Saturday, thus putting the distance of the events in each division on the division themselves. If a race should hit the pre-determined yellow limit, we will attempt a green/white/checkered finish, however if it too goes yellow it will be checkered at the final yellow with the finish reverting to the last completed lap, with the cars involved in the final yellow being put to the tail of whatever lap they were on. Any car involved in 2 yellow incidents in any non-headline event, unassisted or assited will be black flagged at that point and sent to the pits for the remainder of the event. Wilmot Raceway will institute other procedures (such as single file restarts) as it deems necessary to assist the racer's with a cleaner program for the benefit of everyone, particularly the fans.
Also, racer's must remember that RaCeiver radio's are mandatory and a track rule. They are available at most speed shops, or can be pre-ordered thru the Raceway. Failure to have one can be grounds for disqualification.
Lastly, please note that pill draw ends at 5:15. Any car that has not drawn by that time will be placed at the rear of a heat and will not accumulate any passing points, only finishing points. Please make arrangements for draw if you are running late. Also this final point is extremely important, if you WANT to start from the tail PLEASE tell the girls that when you go to pill draw. With our point system and the way things are entered into the computer, it is extremely time consuming to make line up adjustments and slows down our program. Note, by going to the tail you are not eligible for passing points. If you are a rookie, or have mechanical issues, we understand.... though please make it known at pill draw.

Thank You,
Wilmot Raceway Staff

The Wilmot Raceway expects another big field this Saturday. Coming off one of the largest car counts any track in the Midwest had last Saturday, this Saturday June 25th has the Midwest SprintCar Association (MSA) winged warriors featured. The MSA is usually found competing weekly at Manitowoc and Plymouth, however this week we are pleased to host a MSA point race at Wilmot Raceway. A full field is fully expected, and includes several racer's who cut their sprint car teeth at Wilmot, including the Father & Son duo of Al & Danny Schlafer, Randy Sippel, young charger Jeremy Schultz, and many more.

Sprint Car fans have plenty to look forward to at Wilmot Raceway as they have the MSA this Saturday, then the season really kicks in as Wilmot's 410 Goodyear Sprints compete on July 2nd, & 8th, and the traveling IRA series invades on the 23rd for the Roger IllesTribute event.  August has the Sprints every week as the Goodyear Sprints headline the 6th, 13th, 19th during the Fair, while IRA headlines the 20th during the Fair, with the Wilmot Sprints rounding out the month on the 27th. A MSA / IRA combo Sprint event concludes the season on September 24th when we'll crown the 2011 Wilmot Raceway Sprint Track Champion.

Scott Kuxhouse, Mike Conn, Mike & Nick Simons, Joel Crowbridge, Lee Tibbits and many more hope to find Modified victory lane as Late Model racer turned Wilmot Mod racer Chris Carlson has come out quite impressively winning 2 of 3 Mod main events (Jason Hyerdall has other) thus far. Wilmot has one of the highest Mod car counts per week in the Midwest.

Wilmot Raceway is the home of 1200cc Mini-Sprint racing in the upper-Midwest, and is proud to see the group growing. Todd Lehr edged Tim Brannam in a great side by side shootout this past Saturday.

The Street Stocks are another fixture at Wilmot with what appears to be the largest Street Stock field in the state. Multi-wide, fender to fender racing is the norm in this class. 3 races and 3 winners in this competitive class.

Lastly it was great to see several newcomers come out in the F4 & P4 class. An all green main event was a late night highlight Saturday as they put on one of their best races ever.
