Freedom, WI – January 30, 2018 – History will be made in August 2018 when the American Ethanol Late Model Tour and the Dirt Kings Tour join together for the Inaugural Dairyland Duel Presented by Allstar Performance. For the first time, the American Ethanol Late Model Tour (AELMT) will travel west of Lake Michigan to Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin, the host venue for the duel in the Dairyland.

Set for Friday, August 17th, during the Kenosha County Fair, the Dairyland Duel will be the first co-sanctioned late model race for both Tours and the

first trip to southern Wisconsin for the AELMT drivers who will battle head-to-head with the cars and stars of the native Dirt Kings Tour. American

Ethanol Late Model Tour Director Nick Rice says he is excited to expand the Tour further throughout the Great Lakes Region and looks forward to working with the Dirt Kings.

“It’s pretty cool that we could pull this event together. Having this co-sanctioned race will enhance both of our young tours”, said Rice. “With this race being just across the Illinois border, the potential to see some other big name drivers, who don’t normally run either tour, is definitely there”.

While this will be the first event for the AELMT at Wilmot Raceway, it will be the second trip for the Dirt Kings Late Model Tour. Last fall, 26 cars were on hand as Brad Mueller took the checkered flag. Mueller will be back to defend his win along with defending Tour Champion Nick Anvelink, Tour regulars Ron Berna, Brett Swedberg, Jared Siefert and Tim Buhler. The Dairyland Duel will be the 10th race of 14 on the season for the Dirt Kings Tour and their first of two races at Wilmot Raceway in 2018.

The Dirt Kings Late Model Tour is based in Wisconsin and brings high energy entertainment that captivates fans as drivers compete for the title

of King, while battling side-by-side lap after lap. 2018 is the second year for the Tour that will sanction 14 events at 10 venues. Tour Director Jason Shultz is looking forward to working with the AELMT and its drivers at this special event.

“The Dairyland Duel will be a great event”, says Shultz. “The best dirt late model drivers in the Midwest will showcase their talent head-to-head”.

Founded in 2015, the American Ethanol Late Model Tour has seen 12 different feature winners, at 12 different tracks, in three states in their short history; however the highly
competitive tour has only seen two champions; Rich Neiser (2015) and Dona Marcoullier (2016 and 2017). AELMT events have attracted an array of talented drivers including 2010 and 2017 UMP National Champion Rusty Schlenk, former World of Outlaws Feature winner Jeep Van Wormer and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver, Austin Dillon who have competed with the Tour multiple times. Defending Merritt Showdown Champion Eric Spangler and Tour regulars Brandon Thirlby, Ryan VanderVeen and Travis Stemler are among a slew of Michigan standouts expected to make the trip to the Dairyland.
