CRANES ATTENDING FINAL WINGS ETC CAR SHOW WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26

The Crane brothers from Waukegan, Illinois, Nathan and Derek, will have their AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLess Sprints on display at the final Wings Etc. Car Show Wednesday, September 26 in the Orchard Street Plaza, Antioch, Illinois.  Both are scheduled to compete this Friday and Saturday, September 28 and 29, at Plymouth Dirt Track on the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds. Tony Stewart and Sammy Swindell have been announced as competing with the IRA Winged Sprints in their season finale. The show, the final in the summer series coordinated by Ron Horton, was rescheduled due to the forecast for inclement weather on September 25.

Wilmot Crowns M. Simons Modifieds; Heinert Mini-Sprints; Barron Bandits; Baker Street Stocks 2018 Champs

The regular season 2018 Wilmot Raceway Championship Night Saturday, September 8 saw four champions crowned and a pair of first-time Wilmot feature winners. Mike Simons II of Genoa City captured his second consecutive modified championship placing runner-up to first time feature winner Austin Blume of Mt. Morris, Illinois. Waukesha’s Mark Heinert took his third Wisconsin-Illinois Mini-Sprint crown with a second place feature finish to back to back main event winner C.J. Malueg of Johnsburg, Illinois. The Wilmot Raceway regular season Wisconsin WingLess Sprint Car Season Championship has been moved to Saturday, September 15. This follows the rain out of the September 1 race program. Season championships are scheduled for Wisconsin-Illinois Mini-Sprints, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Bandit 4-Cylinder Stock Cars on Saturday, September 8. The AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLess Sprints have been added to the September 8 program in a non-points event.  For possible additional schedule changes check the Raceway web site wilmotraceway.com or the track Facebook page. Rossmann Takes Inaugural Carlton Tribute; Malueg Wins First Mini-Sprint Main; N. Simons Takes Fourth Modified; Quarnstrom Tops Third Bandit.

Pat Rossmann of Wadsworth, Illinois, 4-time Wilmot Raceway Street Stock Champion, sported a special Dennis Carlton decal on his car enroute to the inaugural Dennis Carlton Street Stock Tribute 18-Lap Feature victory on Saturday, August 25. Dennis Carlton won the 1984 Wilmot street stock championship and the 1986 sportsman title, along with a 1996 title at Lake Geneva Raceway giving him crowns on dirt and asphalt.  Dennis Carlton owned Don’s Garage in Trevor, a long time sponsor at Wilmot Raceway and of many cars in various divisions.  Dennis Carlton passed away June 2. “Dennis was a special guy and this

Jake Blackhurst of Hanna City, Illinois captured his second consecutive Bumper to Bumper Interstates Racing Association (IRA) feature at Wilmot Raceway leading wire to wire before a standing room only Kenosha County Fair crowd by taking the 36-lap 9th Annual Roger Iles Tribute sponsored by Carriage Auto Body of Waukegan, Illinois.
