ERICKSON TAKES CARLTON JULY 27 FEATURE; IRA BILL KLEIN/FOUNDERS NIGHT AUGUST 3

(Wilmot, Wis., Saturday, July 27,2019)–The original home of the Interstate Racing Association(IRA) Wilmot Raceway will host a doubleheader event Saturday, August 3. The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints, which began 52 years ago at Wilmot, will be featured in the Bill Klein Tribute. The winner will have their name added to the IRA Founders Trophy recognizing the three men who originated the organization, Ray Toft, Whitey Harris and the late Junior Dodd. DENNIS CARLTON TRIBUTE RESET SATURDAY, JULY 27

(Wilmot, Wis., Saturday, July 20, 2019)–The 2nd Annual Dennis Carlton Tribute for the street stocks at Wilmot Raceway is rescheduled for Saturday, July 27. Joining the street stocks on the five division program are the AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLess Sprints, IRA Lightning Sprints, Modifieds and Bandit 4-Cylinder Stock Cars. The originally scheduled special honoring the former Wilmot race car driver and sponsor was cancelled on Saturday, July 20 due to initially dangerously high temperatures and heat indexes which were then followed by heavy storms which struck the Kenosha County Fairgrounds facility and caused damage in several surrounding communities. Schatz lead every official lap before the full house crowd to finally score a victory at Wisconsin’s original home of sprint car racing. (Wilmot, Wis., Saturday, July 6, 2019)–Cambridge’s Zach Boden won the 10th annual “Salute to Harry Turner” Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie Badger Midget Racing Series feature Saturday, July 6 at Wilmot Raceway. Boden’s win marked the first career series feature victory for the third-year driver highlighting Wilmot’s Military Appreciation Night. Boden jumped into the lead at the start of the event, closely followed by Jordan Mattson. The only caution appeared on Lap 7 when second place Mattson came to a stop, retiring from the event.
