The Wilmot Raceway is just a few weeks from letting the mud fly for the 2019 season. The track proudly boasts one of the biggest and best schedules of any track in the region, featuring big national events such as Tony Stewart’s IRA / All Star Sprint Challenge (Fri, May 17), the UMP Late Model Summer Nationals (Tues, July 2), and the World of Outlaw Sprints (Sat, July 13). Regional specials such as the IRA Outlaw Sprints (May 4, June 15, Aug 3, Aug 17), and the Dirt King Late Models (Sept 7) are spread out throughout the season, plus the best in weekly local racing headlined by the fastest growing series in the country, the Wisconsin wingLESS Sprints, plus Modifieds, 1000cc Mini Sprints, Street Stocks, and Bandit 4-cylinder stocks too. Certainly, something for everyone!
With Mother Nature’s cooperation, Wilmot Raceway will open for tech/practice day combos in mid-April, possibly as early as April 13-14 if we can complete some of our preseason projects. A raceway Car Show is slated for April 13th in downtown Wilmot which will be a great prelude for our fans, and good tech opportunity as well. Every effort to get a practice or two in before opening night will be made, watch for practice updates on our Facebook page.
Opening night for the 2019 race season is Saturday night April 27th featuring all 5 of Wilmot Raceway’s core classes; wingLESS Sprints, Modifieds, Mini Sprints, Street Stocks, and Bandit 4’s. Wilmot Raceway is slated to compete every Saturday night from April 27th thru September 7th. Only exceptions are that Wilmot will be running on Friday May 17th instead of Saturday that weekend, and that we are taking Saturday Aug 10th off to prepare for the Fair.
Our first special event is May 4th featuring the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints, AutoMeter WI wingLESS Sprints, Mini Sprints, and Modifieds.
