Rossmann Takes Inaugural Carlton Tribute; Malueg Wins First Mini-Sprint Main; N. Simons Takes Fourth Modified; Quarnstrom Tops Third Bandit.

Pat Rossmann of Wadsworth, Illinois, 4-time Wilmot Raceway Street Stock Champion, sported a special Dennis Carlton decal on his car enroute to the inaugural Dennis Carlton Street Stock Tribute 18-Lap Feature victory on Saturday, August 25. Dennis Carlton won the 1984 Wilmot street stock championship and the 1986 sportsman title, along with a 1996 title at Lake Geneva Raceway giving him crowns on dirt and asphalt.  Dennis Carlton owned Don’s Garage in Trevor, a long time sponsor at Wilmot Raceway and of many cars in various divisions.  Dennis Carlton passed away June 2. “Dennis was a special guy and this

Jake Blackhurst of Hanna City, Illinois captured his second consecutive Bumper to Bumper Interstates Racing Association (IRA) feature at Wilmot Raceway leading wire to wire before a standing room only Kenosha County Fair crowd by taking the 36-lap 9th Annual Roger Iles Tribute sponsored by Carriage Auto Body of Waukegan, Illinois. Erb Jr. inherited the lead from Brian Shirley with 20 laps to go in the 50-lap Dairyland Duel at Wilmot Raceway, co-sanctioned by the DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Late Model Tour and the American Ethanol Late Model Tour. The Kenosha County Fair has a pair of major Motorsport events taking place at its’ Wilmot Raceway during the Fair. Bill Grogan Funeral Arrangements

Bill Grogan, longtime owner of Beach Park Freight Lines and avid supporter of Wilmot Raceway, Interstate Racing Association and several of its competitors, passed away Saturday, August 4. Wake will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7 with funeral service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, both at North Point Community Church in Winthrop Harbor. The Wilmot Raceway staff and competitors, along with the Interstates Racing Association and all who were touched by Bill extend sincere sympathies to Bill’s family.

BLACKHURST CAPTURES IRA FOUNDERS CROWN; SUMMINS TAKES WINGLESS CHALLENGE; HEINERT WINS SECOND MINI-SPRINT MAIN

Jake Blackhurst of Hanna City, Illinois added his name to the prestigious Interstate Racing Association (IRA) Founders Trophy with his first win at Wilmot Raceway on Saturday, August 4.  Blackhurst joins Dale Blaney from Ohio, who won the first two Founders features in 2014 and 2015, and 8-time IRA Champion Bill Balog, originally from Alaska now residing in Hartland, Wisconsin, who won in 2016 and 2017.
