VANDERVERE TOPS RECORD WINGLESS FIELD; N. SIMONS, ROSSMANN, QUARNSTROM SCORE FEATURES

Matt Vandervere of Zion, Illinois bested a record 39-car AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLess Sprint Car Series field for his first Wilmot Raceway 20-lap feature win of the season.    “I want to dedicate the win to Bill Grogan who is having some health issues,” said Vandervere following his third overall Series win, referring to longtime Wilmot supporter and owner of Beach Park Freight Lines.  “Chris (Dodd) runs hard and clean.  It was a great race.” Dodd weathered a couple of early race cautions in front of the pack.  Eight laps from the finish, Vandervere overtook the front.  Fast qualifier Mitchell Davis of Auburn, Illinois took second.

RAIN WINS AGAIN AT WILMOT JULY 21 – LET’S GO RACING JULY 28

Mother Nature was the only winner Saturday, July 21 at Wilmot Raceway.  Steady rains much of Friday, July 20, and into Saturday, along with persistent off and on showers and mist prevented drying forcing Kenosha County Fair and Wilmot Raceway officials to call of racing for the second consecutive week. Officials are attempting to reschedule The Tommy Homan Family Night Street Stock Special. Racing is cancelled for tonight, Saturday, July 14 at Wilmot Raceway. Next Saturday, July 21 features Tommy Homan Family Night Street Stock Special plus Autometer Wisconsin WingLess Sprints, Wisconsin-Illinois Mini-Sprints, modifieds and Bandit 4-Cylinder Stock Cars. Grandstands open 5:00 p.m. with on track 5:45 p.m. and racing to follow. Family Night Admission $15.00 ages 12 & over, ages 11 & under admitted free.  $5.00 discount active military personnel with ID. Independence Week Spectacular Round II was most memorable to Nathan Crane of Waukegan, Illinois on Saturday, July 7. Ray, Larson, Quarnstrom Take First 2018 Wilmot Mains; Pinkalla Captures Third

Davey Ray of Indianapolis, Indiana was glad Wilmot Raceway held its Independence Day Holiday Spectacular Day One Saturday, June 30.  Despite some tracks cancelling due to the intense heat, the Kenosha County Fair and Wilmot Raceway staff decided to go on with the program.  Ray scored a clean sweep, posting fast time, winning the third heat and taking the feature win.Davey Ray,    Ray took the lead out of a three-wide restart five laps into the 20-lap Badger Midget Feature going on to score the victory.  “I have to thank the track crew for doing an outstanding job preparing this surface,”  said
