BABICZ (Wilmot, Wisconsin, July 22, 2017)–Allen Hafford of Beach Park, Illinois scored a final lap victory in the Wisconsin WingLESS Sprints feature on Saturday, July 22 at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis.     Chris Klemko of Bristol battled back and forth with Rod Colburn of New Berlin throughout much of the caution plagued main.  The most serious incident came near the 10-lap mark when fast qualifier Todd Lehr Kokomo, Indiana spun and collected Jimmy Sivia of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois resulting in Lehr flipping and landing his car upside down.  Neither driver was injured but both cars were eliminated for

JULY 15 RACES CANCELED

(Wilmot, Wisconsin, Friday, July 14, 2017)–Due to flooding making access to the Kenosha County Fairgrounds impossible, Wilmot Raceway has canceled its race program for Saturday, July 15.     The track itself was not hit by the flooding.     Hwy. W on the east end of the fairgrounds and the location of both main entrances into the facility continues to be closed due to the bordering Fox River flooding.    Racing is scheduled to resume on Saturday, July 22 featuring the Wisconsin WingLess Sprints, Wisconsin-Illinois Mini-Sprints, modifieds, street stocks and Bandit 4-cylinder stock cars.     Grandstands will open at

Leading the list was first time Wilmot feature winner Scott Thiel of Sheboygan in the 25-lap Wilmot 410 Winged Sprint Car main .  Thiel overtook Pleasant Prairie’s Phillip Mock on a restart with two laps remaining after Mock had lead all of the previous 23 circuits. BALOG RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME FOR IRA INDEPENDENCE WEEKEND VICTORY

BY MICHAEL H. BABICZ – Bill Balog of Hartford was in the right place at just the right time for the Independence Day Weekend Spectacular on Saturday, July 1 at Wilmot Raceway. Balog, the 7-time Bumper to Bumper Interstates Racing Association(IRA) champion and current pointleader, inherited the lead with two laps remaining and went on to score the victory in the 30-lap 410 outlaw winged sprint feature. Balog had just worked his way past early race leader Scotty Nietzel of Beaver Dam for second, at the time, with Carson Macedo of Lemoore, CA appearing headed for his first IRA feature win ever.
